The College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) earlier on launched Huduma Centre which is located at the Education Building
This is one of the largest colleges with a large student body and so the launch of one stop shop will go a long way in service delivery and customer satisfaction. The Centre will aide in bringing services closer to the customers and also aide in faster delivery as all services will be accessed under one roof.
Prof. Isaac Mbeche, Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration and Finance, spoke on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi said the Huduma Centre was a noble idea which added a lot of value to the University of Nairobi.
CHSS is the first college in the university that is planning to fully digitize all its activities. Some of the services to be offered include; Academic issues, procurement, Finance, Human Resource/Administration and general customer service enquiries.
ICT Centre Director Ibrahim Otieno attended the launch and he noted that the new system will go a long way in improving information flow and enhancing access to timely information.The ICT (Information Communication Technology) team developed the system to be used by the Huduma centre
The event was attended by, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs Prof. Henry Mutoro, Research Production and Extension (RPE), Prof. Lucy Irungu, CHSS Principal Prof. Enos Njeru, all College Principals and other senior university management officials.
