The University of Nairobi and Kenya Commercial Bank, KCB, has launched an online application System.
This took place on March 14th, 2016 at the Central Catering Unit.
Presiding over the launch, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Peter Mbithi, said that this is another
achievement that the University welcomes and urges all the stakeholders to ensure
its successful running. He congratulated the technical team from the University and KCB
that made it a success.
Through this system, the University will be able to increase the number of students enrolled.
The application process will be less tedious and those interested can track their application online.
Dr. Sam Nyaoke from KCB noted that the University has different accounts for different
payments and that the system has integrated and automatically directs the payments
in the respective accounts. This will be more effective for both the University and the students.
Ibrahim Otieno, ICT director, noted that it is now possible for students to apply for courses
without physically coming to the University. After handing in the application, the student
can then track the application, make payment and report on the expected day.
Present during the launch was the Senate, deans and directors of the University.
