UNIVERSITY PRAISED DURING MID-YEAR PERFOMANCE EVALUATION

The University of Nairobi mid-year performance for the period 2015/2016 was reviewed by a team from the Department of Performance Contracting.

The performance team was led by Mr. Peter Alubale an independent consultant who praised the University for the Excellent Results in the January 2016 web metrics ranking. Mr. Alubale also congratulated the University for automating online application system for students. The system was launched on 14th March 2016 by the VC Prof. Peter Mbithi. This online system will provide a platform for self-sponsored students to apply for any course offered by the University of Nairobi.

Some of the key indicators that the review team concentrated on were: service delivery, project implementation and also completion period, eradication of corruption, good governance, and cohesion among many others.

The team was also given a breakdown of the number of youth given internships, tenders given to the youth, women and also people living with disabilities. In the area of research, the review team was updated on all the research findings that have so far been released to the market.

During the meeting, it was reported that the University of Nairobi Towers will be complete and ready for occupation mid this year.

Present during the review meeting was ICTC Director Ibrahim Otieno, Mr. Leonard Musyoka from the performance contract office among others.
