ICT Centre staff held a meeting today 20th June 2016 to check on the progress made so far by all the different sections of the department.
The Director ICTC noted of the ongoing website drive in all colleges and he urged all participants to cooperate in order to achieve the objectives of the drive. The main aim of the website drive is to promote the good image of the university in terms of being ranked better than the previous ranking. The director emphasized that our aim is to be in the top 500 in the world and top 5 in Africa. He also touched on integrity asking all members to observe the rules/code of ethics and not to do anything that will compromise their individual image or the image of the university.
Mr. Otieno also noted that the university is in the process of transition from ISO90012008 to ISO 90012015 by October of this year. He concluded by asking all members of staff to observe punctuality in their offices.
Deputy Director Paul Kariuki spoke on the progress made by the (Management Information System) MIS team. Some of the projects that have been undertaken by this team include; E-Procurement, post Graduate Tracking System, Research Grant Management Information Systems (RGMIS), staff portal and University System of Websites among others. Some of these projects have already been launched and are operational.
Others who spoke at the meeting were Deputy Director User Support Mr. Muchina and Mr. Joram Kinuthia from Networks. Members of staff also had a chance of engaging the section heads in matters they wanted addressed.
The meeting was held at the ICTC Boardroom.
