Discussions on collaboration between the University of Nairobi and Galilee International Management Institute-based in Northern Israel have started. The discussions took place in a meeting that was attended by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mbithi and the President of Galilee Institute Dr. Joseph Shevel.
One of the areas of collaboration includes designing a program me for rehabilitating the arid areas in the country by use of water from the rivers. Dr. Shivel noted that this will be a way of utilizing the country’s water resources because research has shown that most of it goes to waste.
In his remarks, Prof Mbithi noted that the Institute will work closely with UON’S African Dry lands Institute for Sustainability (ADIS) to make this project successful.
It was agreed that the two institutes will work towards developing and signing a memorandum of agreement (MOU). The two institutions also agreed on staff exchange programs and also conduct joint research and teaching.
