Professor Julius Alexander Ogeng'o, Professor of Human Anatomy, will deliver his inaugural lecture today at 4.00p.m. At Taifa Hall. Academic staff, students and members of the public are welcome to the lecture the title of the inaugural lecture is

"Anatomical Variations among Black Kenyans: Relevance in Health and Disease"

 

Professor Julius Ogeng’o is a Professor of Human Anatomy. He is a Medical Doctor specialized in Human Anatomy, and holds BSc, MBChB, PhD and MD degrees from the University of Nairobi. Prof. Ogeng’o is currently the Director, Centre for Self Sponsored Programmes at the University of Nairobi, the immediate former Managing Director of UNES, and long serving Chairman of Department of Human Anatomy. He has wide management experience, characterized by extensive knowledge, skills and competencies in strategic frameworks for administration of University Education, resource management; visionary result oriented leadership, management of academic programmes, managerial skills, strategy formulation and implementation.

 

Prof. Ogeng’o is an accomplished researcher and author with over 200 scientific publications in peer reviewed journals and general health education magazines. The publications cover vascular anatomy, anatomical variations, cardiovascular pathology, neuropathology and contemporary health issues. He is the Editor – in – Chief of the Anatomy Journal of Africa and Reviewer for several journals. Julius Ogeng’o is a seasoned Human Anatomy teacher who has authored the Mungai Dissector, a dissection manual and text used by Undergraduate, Postgraduate students and in – service doctors. He is also the author of OG Anatomy.org, one of the best online Human Anatomy learning platforms. He has supervised and mentored over 40 undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has served and continues to serve on many University strategic committees and boards, held several community leadership positions, attended lots of trainings in management and leadership; and won several local and international accolades.
