                     Announcement to Register for Huawei ICT Competition 2021-2022!

University of Nairobi students are invited to register and participate in Huawei ICT Competition 2021-2022.

In previous years, UoN students have managed to compete and qualify for National, Regional and Global Finals winning various prizes among them internships and jobs in big organizations.

University of Nairobi has an established Huawei ICT Academy that have experienced and qualified trainers. The UoN Huawei ICT Academy will soon be advertising for Huawei Courses in Network and Cloud tracks. This will help UoN students prepare for certifications and the Huawei ICT Competition.

A virtual meeting with UoN students and Huawei Kenya to launch the registration of the Huawei ICT Competition 2021-2022 took place this Friday, June 4, 2021.

6 students from kenya qualify for the Global final round of Huawei ICT Competition

 The Huawei ICT Competition is at the Global Final Round and 6 students from Kenya have qualified to compete. One of the qualifying students is from University of Nairobi. Maluki Muthusi Maluki from School of Computing & Informatics.

The 6 qualifying students will undergo a vigorous 2-day training boot camp at the university of Nairobi.

UoN's Huawei’s ICT Academy is currently offering the Huawei Certified Information Associate (HCIA) Cloud Computing track online (Live Training + E-Learning) for students.This is a capacity building program targeting students in STEM fields. 

The course entails equipping the students with skills in virtualization which is an entry-level technology for cloud computing. This course introduces the knowledge of computing, networking, and storage related to virtualization, and introduces the features of virtualization so that the students can quickly understand the field of cloud computing. 

This is to motivate and support our students to keep upskilling during this COVID-19 period. The students have been sponsored by Huawei Kenya with 15GB worth of data bundles and an exam voucher as well as by the University of Nairobi.

The current continuing class has a total of 18 students with 60 others on the wait list to begin learning as soon as the current class is complete.
