ICT center is continuously looking at security needs of the University systems and with a view of  amendments and enhancements as necessary. 

The enhancement changes the mechanism of logging into the SMIS system. The new mechanism has incorporated  a One Time Password (OTP) where a user is sent a One Time Password on phone to verify their login to the system.

The new login will have the following steps:-

1)      Access SMIS as usual from umis.uonbi.ac.ke/smis

2)      Login using your usual credentials

3)      You will be sent an SMS containing the OTP which you must enter within three minutes

4)      Enter the SMS OTP and click login

5)      Use SMIS as usual

Kindly note that the mobile phone contact that will be used to contact the user is the one recorded in the Human Resource System (HRMIS).

Kindly confirm the mobile phone numbers that is captured in  Human Resource records using the leave application system. If the mobile numbers is not correct, kindly get in touch with your respective college registry  or the personnel division for users in central division to update your mobile phone number.
