The Kenya Internet Summit + .KE Awards was officially opened by the ICT secretary to the cabinet Mrs. Mercy Wanjau on 15th Augast 2024.

The Awards ceremony are celebrated each year, and are aimed at:

• Recognizing efforts by accredited .KE registrars in growing the .KE brand
• Discuss pertinent issues that impact on the growth of .KE domains numbers
• Strengthen engagement and foster a better working relationship with key partners aimed at increasing domain Registrations and Renewals to meet the 2024 targets

During the opening ceremony, Mr. Paul Ndung'u Kariuki who is the director ICT University of Nairobi and also the board chairman of Kenya Network Information Centre (KeNIC) gave an opening remarks.
