UniRank  has ranked the University of Nairobi in position 7 as the most popular university in Africa. All the top six universities came from south Africa.  

uniRank’s selection criteria considers institutions that have been  chartered, licensed and or accredited by the appropriate higher education-related organization in each country. In addition, they recognize universities that are offering at least four-year undergraduate degrees (bachelor degrees) or postgraduate degrees (master or doctoral degrees) and those that are delivering courses predominantly in a traditional, face-to-face and non-distance education format.
