The Directorate of Information and Communication Technology received recognition for exemplary performance in the 2021/2022 Performance Contract which took place in December 5th, 2022, at the Chandaria Auditorium. The directorate of ICT clinched position number 1 as the best performing unit beating all other directorates of the Central Administration at the University of Nairobi.

Directorate of ICT was also recognized as the best overall performing directorate and the most improved unit in the central units. As the master of ceremony said, the ICT director Mr. Paul Kariuki needed assistance to carry the trophies since they were too many to carry. 

The vice chancellor Prof Kiama in his speech, thanked the director ICT Mr. Paul Kariuki for continuously performing well throughout the years. The vice chancellor said that the ICT is the anchor department which touches all the activities of the University of Nairobi. The VC was very happy that the directorate of ICT is performing very well. 

The ICT members of staff were also recognized due to their outstanding performance. Those recognized in ICT include:
