COVID-19 VACCINE

 University Health Services (UHS)has been registered as a COVID-19 Vaccination Centre by the Ministry of Health and the Nairobi County Government, through the Nairobi Metropolitan Services.

The Vaccination commenced  on Thursday April 8, 2021 at 8.30AM outside of the Main Students Clinic.The University Vaccination Centre will observe Government prioritization guidelines and to comply with COVID-19 health protocols. In this regard, the following categories of the priority target groups will be eligible:

COMMENCEMENT OF FACE TO FACE LEARNING FOR THE 2020/21/22 ACADEMIC YEAR

The University of Nairobi wishes to inform the following groups of students that the date for commencement of face to face learning for the 2020/21/22 Academic Year is as follows:

a) 1ST YEAR students, undertaking science-based courses with practicals, from the following Colleges:

National Transport Authority is making a second attempt to implement cashless fares on Kenyan roads. This comes after the first attempt(2015)which failed miserably.

SAFARICOM AND STANDARD IN A DEAL TO SELL DIGITAL NEWSPAPER.

The world now is becoming digital in the wake of covid-19. Teaching and learning , meetings and even treatment are now conducted online(digital).

People are now avoiding printed papers i.e newspapers and even  hard cash because of the corona virus transmission. This has contributed to the digital intrusion to the humanity.Companies are now looking into re-engineering of their businesses into the digital world .

Safaricom and other  print media like the standard newspaper have brought their heads together to come up with  an online newspaper at a cost of 20 bob.

COVID-19 AFRICA RAPID GRANT FUND

The deputy vice chancellor research, innovation and enterprise has called upon the university community to apply for the Covid-19  Africa Rapid  Grant Fund.The application  deadline of the grant is 17th June 2020

TELEMEDICINE-DIAL DAKTARI.

In the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, many things have changed  which have also prompted humanity to also shift their ways of living.One of the change is to encourage social distancing  at all cost.

Telemedicine ,The remote diagnosis and treatment of patients by means of telecommunications technology has gradually become acceptable. With the new normal and preventive measures in place, telemedicine might be the antidote to patient care.

For instance,paatients who are also customers of Telkom will access this service through a toll-free number -  0800-221-011.

Prof. Omu Anzala, Dr. Loice Achieng’ Ombajo and Dr. Marybeth Maritim were among the beneficiaries of the Uzalendo awards which was conferred by his excellence the  president of the republic of Kenya- Uhuru Kenyatta.This is after the government realized their commitment and patriotism in the fight against the covid - 19 pandemic.
