The University of Nairobi has been ranked best university in Kenya and in the East and Central Africa Region for more than 5 years in row in the just released Webometrics Ranking. The Ranking web of Universities (Webometrics) has released the July 2021 edition of the Webometrics report placing the University of Nairobi position 1 in Kenya, 13 in Africa and 1054 in the world.

The University of Nairobi Council lead by prof Ojiambo has outlined radical governance reforms including abolishment of offices, merger of functions and creation of new functions.
