The Director ICT Center, Mr. Paul N. Kariuki, together with Deputy Director in charge of Information Systems, Dr. Chepkoech. C. Kiptoo, participated in a workshop whose objective was to discuss the use of ICT and Assistive technologies to support Persons With Disabilities (PWDs). The workshop among other things discussed the different forms of disabilities, the statistics of PWDs , employment of PWDs , the PWD act, web accessibility for  PWDs and mainstreaming best practices at worklplace.

The workshop was coordinated by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection in partnership with the Gender and Disability Development Center (GDDC). The main facilitators of the workshop were Mr. Richard S. Nasong'o, GDDC Director and Ms Phoebe Nyagundi, Deputy Director / Head of Disability Unit, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.

The key outcomes of the workshop was the know-how by the ICT team on the implementation of ICTC services to support PWD users and the frameworks for implementation and monitoring .

The workshop was a two day event held in Machakos County,  Gelian Hotel from 31 October 2019 to November 1 2019.
