UON READY TO HELP JUDICIARY COME UP WITH DATA CENTER

Chief Justice  Maraga  who is the president of supreme court of Kenya  revealed that the judiciary is in the process of building a data center. He indicated that he  would be glad to partner with the University of Nairobi's ICT expertise in implementing the project.He said this during a courtesy call to the University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor Prof Stephene Kiama .

User Guide for the KENET Sponsored Telkom SIM Cards

KENET has re-introduced authentication on their portal for those using the KENET-Sponsored Telkom Sim Cards. 
The login credentials as as follows 
Username :  Mobile Number without the leading zero e.g. 776037743@kenet.ac.ke 
Password:  Use the last six (6) digits of the serial number on the SIM card
For those who might have Eduroam accounts can use them for the above service.

EMPLOYEES ARE WEAK-LINK OF CYBER SECURITY ATTACKS AMIDST COVID-19

 Employees have become a weak-link amidst Covid-19. The  crisis has seen an upsurge use of technology in unprecedented ways. Many companies and even government institutions have adopted a work-from-home routine, some having to also adopt a ‘bring your own device policy.

This move has increased organisational risk and cyber-security etiquette has begun shifting to the end users. As a result, the most prevalent attack vectors going around include phishing and social engineering.

UoN TO OFFER DUAL AND JOINT DEGREES

The university of Nairobi will now start offering dual and joint degrees . This is after the University's senate approval. 

A dual degree is designed and delivered by two or more partner institutions. A student receives a qualification from each of the partner institutions. The student is required to meet the requirements of the institutions to be awarded a degree by each of the institutions.

THE STAR AND UoN TO WORK TOGETHER.

Prof. Kiama has  asked the media  to proactively highlight activities of institutions of higher learning to help solve some challenges facing communities.

The University of Nairobi, the Star and Radio Africa Group in general have agreed to work closely for mutual benefit and for the benefit of the public. Prof Kiama said this on Friday when editors ,sales and marketing managers from The Star led by Head of Content Paul Ilado, Radio Africa Group and Chief Operating Officer, Agnes Kalekye, paid him a courtesy call.
