University Of Nairobi Vice- Chancellor welcomes first year students - January 23, 2020.

University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Gitahi Kiama, welcomed first year students into the University of Nairobi. While addressing the students  in Taifa hall, Prof. Kiama  cautioned first years against wasting their time while in campus. He challenged them to use their time wisely while in campus. “Use your time wisely to get the best of this university. University of Nairobi made us who we are today. We are the best university in the region and in Africa. We are ready to avail all service to make your stay here memorable.

Colleges ICT support staff trained on Active Directory (AD) self provisioning tool and windows 2007 to 2010 upgrade

 

The Training which was organised by the Deputy director (NIS) Joram Kinuthia , trained ICT members of staff who are based in different colleges of the university.

 Trainees were trained on the following :

-  Active Directory (AD) self provisioning tool - (Trainer- Fintan KImani)

Mr. George Ndegwa represented UON at Huawei ICT Academy workshop

  Huawei ICT Academy workshop which was held on Friday 29th November 2019. The University of Nairobi was invited as a partner.

The University of Nairobi shared a presentation of how it offers the HCIA class (i.e. during the students’ long holiday) for a 4 week session. We also show cased how its best preforming students won themselves a certification and a six months internship to Huawei Centre or a three months internship at University of Nairobi, ICT Centre.

UoN revamps its system of websites

The sites were redesigned to keep pace with the emerging developments in the technological world and the evolving needs of the institution’s stakeholders who include: - students, staff, researchers, sponsors, guardians, collaborators, government agencies and the general public. On accessing the website, one can quickly get a snapshot of UoN displayed by high quality videos, eye catching photos and informative news items about research, teaching and learning undertaken on a day to day basis at UoN.

Director ICTC Signs Performance Contract with UoN Vice Chancellor

Prof. Julia Ojiambo,  stated  the University performance contract has been negotiated in a manner that it; resonates with the public expectations, demonstrates progressive achievement of the Medium Term Plan III targets, Sector Performance Standards (SPS), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Strategic Plan, and other national development priorities; benchmarks with international best practices and fully aligned to the University budget.
