University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor Prof. Gitahi Kiama addressed first year graduate students. The Graduate school orientation took place on Wednesday 5th February 2020, at the Chandaria Auditorium, 6th Flr, UoN Towers. The Director ICT, Mr Paul Kariuki was among key officers of the University who addressed the students.

First edition of 2020 Ranking Web of Universities(webometrics) have been released. University of Nairobi maintains its top position as the best university in Kenya and East Africa.
The latest report released on January 28, 2020 also shows that the University of Nairobi Ranks position 11 in Africa and position 1,018 in the world.
Worldwide University Ranking
University of Nairobi Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Gitahi Kiama, welcomed first year students into the University of Nairobi. While addressing the students in Taifa hall, Prof. Kiama cautioned first years against wasting their time while in campus. He challenged them to use their time wisely while in campus. “Use your time wisely to get the best of this university. University of Nairobi made us who we are today. We are the best university in the region and in Africa. We are ready to avail all service to make your stay here memorable.
The Training which was organised by the Deputy director (NIS) Joram Kinuthia , trained ICT members of staff who are based in different colleges of the university.
Trainees were trained on the following :
- Active Directory (AD) self provisioning tool - (Trainer- Fintan KImani)
ICT Website team and web Champions drawn from Colleges, Faculties, Schools, Institutes, Centres and Departments were trained on google digital skills. The training which took place at the University towers, was organised by the Director of Corporate Affairs Mr John Orindi.
Mr. Godfrey Ochola graduated with Masters of Science in Information Technology Management (MSC in ITM) from the University of Nairobi(62nd graduation ceremony). Omondi works in ICT as a System administrator. Congratulations Mr. Omondi for your achievement.
The ICT Center Chief Information Security Officer attended the training which was held at Bamburi Beach hotel in Mombasa County on November 11th – 15th 2019.
