The University of Nairobi has been officially admitted to Worldwide Universities Network (WUN). This is following the participation of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Peter Mbithi in Australia-Africa Universities Network (AAUN) in Perth, Australia and the evaluation of UoN by the global Universities Network.

The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) is a leading global higher education and research network made up of 20 universities, in 11 countries on five continents. Whose work is to drive international research collaboration and address issues of global significance.

WUN is the most active global higher education and research network with 90 active research initiatives, engaging over 2,000 researchers and students collaborating on a diverse range of projects. These initiatives are committed to addressing some of the world’s most urgent challenges such as climate change, global higher education and research, culture, public health and non-communicable diseases and are supported by prolific partners such as the United Nations Foundation, World Bank, OECD and World Health Organization.

UON will now work with other Members of the Worldwide Universities Network to bring the faculty together to develop and implement new ideas and pursue new funding opportunities, to create opportunities for student exchange, and to share information and best practice.

As a member of WUN, UoN will have an advantage of accessing funds for research, attending WUN conferences and events, development of joint research proposals, student exchange programs among others.

The agreement between the University and WUN will be signed at a later day at the University of Nairobi.
